What Have We Been Up To?

We've been dressing ourselves, wearing gloves and hats in the 80 degree heat (with flip flops, of course!)

We've been divas overlooking our pond!

We've been trying on crazy hats at TJ Maxx, so glad they opened one close by!

We've been exploring the beaches north of us and grabbing a quick lunch.

We've been carrying people that are too big to be carried.  Josh took this because he thinks I look ridiculous carrying Annika because she's so big and I'm so short!

We've been eating chocolate goodness :-)

We've been exploring places we've never been.

We've also been practicing for the big recital Saturday, even little sisters join in the fun!

Going To Work

Annika has never seen me leave for work.  When she was in daycare I dropped her off once before work (Josh went in later than me so he always took her) and she threw a fit.  She had never cried when Josh dropped her off.  She's totally a momma's girl.  I'll take it now because I know once she turns 13 she'll hate me!

Today she woke up at 6am.  She came into the bathroom while I was getting ready and said she wanted to sleep with me and cuddle.  I told her I had to go to work.  She closed the bathroom door and I could hear her in her closet (her bedroom is on the other side of our bathroom wall).

Then she came into the bathroom and said "I got to work with you, please?"

And then my heart broke.  Look at that face!  Then she burst into tears.

Poor sweet girl.  I told her she couldn't come with me and I set her up in the living room with a movie, cereal and her milk.  Josh only had 2 hours of sleep so far so I told her stay in the living room for as long as possible.  I guess she ended up waking him up around 7:15 for more food!

I called later in the day to check on her.  In the background I heard her saying "I need to talk to momma".  The second we started talking she burst into tears.

It was a rough day.  I rarely have a day where I feel like I'm making the wrong decision being a working mom but for about 4 hours this morning I was feeling it.

Then I had my yearly review.  It was just what I needed to show me that providing for our family is what I need to keep doing.  I got a great raise, great review and I'm now making more than my old "I won't be able to believe it if I make this much per hour" pay.

Instead of doing my usual Insanity workout while the girls play we made chocolate chip cookies together and went for a walk.  I'm looking forward to our 3 day weekend (including Annika's first ballet recital Saturday!!) and getting to cuddle with Annika in the mornings :-)

My Sweet Girl

Last week at ballet we arrived early, really early...I hate when that happens but when you live far away from ballet school and ballet school is on your way home you have no choice but to hang out before class starts.  We just don't have the time to run home like we used to.

Some older girls, one is 7 and the other is 8, love Annika.  They are also redheads!  There is another little girl that plays with them that is also 3 years old like Annika.  They were tossing around a baby doll and being pretty mean to the doll.

Annabel pushed one of the girls aside (my tiny little girl!) and grabbed the doll from them!  So unlike her since she's usually very shy and timid.  She gave the doll a hug and kissed her on the top of the head!

I almost cried.  Such a sweet thing!

I wish the picture didn't turn out with evil red eyes!!

Then I realized the poor girl doesn't have a baby doll of her own!  So I bought her a smaller one at Target on my way home from work last week and she's been carrying it around and kissing it ever since.

Such a sweet girl.

What Have We Been Up To?

I've turned into the world's worse blogger!  Luckily I've just managed to get a few mintues to myself to type up some stuff that has been going on lately!

I missed blogging about Easter.  The girls had so much fun looking for eggs and Annika helped out Annabel a lot which was sweet!

I didn't go out and buy "Easter Dresses" for them but they both looked adorable.

We've been swimming in our pool a few times.  It's so much bigger than any other place we've lived!

Annabel is not fan of the pool, she's slowly getting better with it.

We've been on our trail a few times too (along with my aunt who was visiting us from Arizona!).

Speaking of my aunt, she was here for 4 days, it's never long enough!  We had our traditional seafood meal!  Yum!

We also had a housewarming party with our friends and family!  It was great to have Josh's family be able to come down too!

We're loving the new house and have a few projects coming up!

Hope to be able to blog a bit more as things settle down around here :-)
